Discraft Thrasher
The Thrasher is a high-glide, understable distance driver with flight numbers 12 | 5 | -3 | 2. Designed for effortless distance, it produces a full flight with minimal power input.
Its comfortable rim and forgiving stability make it ideal for beginner to intermediate arms seeking extra distance, while advanced throwers rely on it for controlled hyzer flips, long turnover lines, and tailwind drives.
- Smooth hyzer flips that drift forward before settling into a gentle fade.
- Long, pushing turnovers that hold glide without burning into the ground.
- Excellent for rollers, tailwind shots, and controlled turn lines.
The Thrasher responds best to clean angles and a relaxed tempo — adding power will increase turn, which is part of what makes the disc so versatile when used intentionally.
Plastic Comparison
| Plastic | Feel | Flight Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Z-Line | Durable, slightly firm | Neutral-to-understable with steady glide and a forward fade. Consistent over time. |
| ESP | Grippy with slight give | More glide and easier turn. Ideal for effortless hyzer-flip distance. |
| ESP FLX | Flexible with high grip | Increased turn and late-drifting glide. Performs well in cold weather and touch shots. |
| Big Z | Firm, smooth finish | Slightly more stable than standard Z. Holds hyzers and resists overpowering better. |
| Z Lite | Lightweight Z blend | Maximum glide, easiest distance, especially for developing arms. Strong tailwind option. |
| Titanium (legacy) | Firm, premium texture | Often the most stable Thrasher. Holds hyzer lines with less unwanted turn. |
| ESP Recycled | Slightly chalky, seasoned-in feel | Starts out straighter with a smooth, controlled turnover finish. |
